Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by UPSC.CSE is common examination for various civil Service positions offered by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

This examination will allow you to pursue your career in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), along with various services under Group A, and Group B which include services related to Central Government and Union Territories respectively.

IAS Exam Age Limits

The minimum age requirement is 21 years of age to take the CSE. While the maximum age allowed is 32 years for the general category. The maximum age for OBC candidates is 35 years of age and for SC/ST the limit is 37 years of age.

Number Of Attempts

Every candidate appearing for the UPSC exam gets a defined number of attempts based on their category.
SC/ST: Allowed infinite attempts till age 37
OBC: 7 attempts
General: 6 attempts
